Rain, rain, go away

http://preview.weather.com/outlook/weather-news/news/articles/snow-storm-britain-europe_2010-12-18
Well, soccer is canceled in England, there are no flights in or out of London because of the snow...did I pick a great time to move to England or what? I'm off in exactly 2 weeks, but if conditions keep up like this, who knows when I'll be able to get there! The past few days have consisted of non-stop preparations, from buying tons of rain gear, securing my housing, picking classes, and even braving the floods and ridiculous rain in just my new rain jacket to, as my dad said, "start my training." So ridiculous. Gotta toughen up though! Being from So Cal, my way to handle rain is to sit inside until it goes away. But it looks like I'm gonna need to start learning how to live in these conditions and brave the storm!
Countdown: 14 days!

It's All Happening

This has been the best day in a REALLY long time. At 3 am I got an email from the University of Sussex Housing Directors - the subject was "URGENT: LAST HOUSING WAITLIST POSITION AVAILABLE." Naturally, I woke myself up to read what it was all about. Turns out, I was lucky enough to grab the LAST housing spot that Sussex had for international students coming in the spring. Can you say LUCK? Anyways, I'm gonna be living in an off campus location, Victoria Road to be precise, with 8 other Sussex students. I truly could not be more excited if I tried. Here's a snapshot of where I'll be living...my house is the one with the red door!
Sidenote: 24 days till departure!

"I've mad a decision. I'm moving to Morocco - 1 year. Do you wanna come?"
"Yes."
"Are you sure?"
"Ask me again..."
"Do you wanna come?"
"Yes."
"It's all happening. It's alll happening."

Gonna be nice and toasty in England! Can't wait to wear all my new winter clothes and experience some real seasons! Hopefully I don't become a popsicle in the first week...

Anticipation

December 6 - One month from today I will have officially stepped foot in jolly good England! With nowhere to live and no familiarity of the country whatsoever, I welcome everything this experience is going to bring me with open arms and an open mind. I will miss you all dearly but know this is gonna be the most life-changing 7 months for me yet. I hope to update you all back at home with what's going on in my life while I'm abroad, with great memories and experiences, etc. So cheerio for now!
